Jabalpur city is tourism capital of Madhya Pradesh state. In compare to any other city of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur has unmatched natural beauty and tourist places in and around city. If we look around the city, we can find that Jabalpur is surrounded by rocky hills of Granite stone & sand-stone. In evening, such green mountains along with orange and blue sky on back-gorund of hills give a picturesque view.

Due to its well connectivity with all major cities of India like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Lucknow, Jaipur, Agra etc. So its well connectivity has made Jabalpur city as first option to begin/terminate any tour of Central India. So either on arrival or departure, almost every tourist does one day city tour of Jabalpur. Monuments in Jabalpur : Madan mahal is the most famous historical monument of 11th century in Jabalpur city. Chausat yogini temple of Bhedaghat and Tripur Sundari Temple are also ancient temples of Hindus near-by Jabalpur city. Similarly gokuldas palace of Hanuman-taal, Bajna-math are also famous monuments of Jabalpur to visit. There is also a Rani Durgawati war memorial about 10 km. from Jabalpur. It is the place where Rani did supreme sacrifice along with his favourite elephant called “Sarman” during war with Mogul forces of Akbar.

Bhedaghat & Dhuandhar Waterfall It is a waterfall in adjoining part of Bhedaghat. Here one can observe the force of water flow and considered photogenic spot. Here river passes through narrow passage and produces fog and sound. Dhuandhar can also be viewed from overview thorough rope-way drive. One can also do shopping of marble show-pieces in Dhaundhar local market. Bheraghat is the most popular tourist spot of Jabalpur city tour. It is on the bank of holy Narmada river where river passes through straight erected shiny marble rocks of various colours. It gives the best enjoyment of boating in a river. Dhuandhar is a foggy picturesque water fall close to Bhedaghat. It is the most popular photogenic tourist spot. To capture the best comprehensive pictures of Narmada river, one should must do rope-way ride over the river by paying nominal charges. It is just 25kms. away from city center of Jabalpur.During rainy season, one can be deprive of boating in Bheraghat and Dhuandhar water fall can also be seen from a safe distance as safety grills are removed from site and was declared dangerous to get close to that spot. So best time to visit them is summer and winter season i.e from Oct. to June.

Narmada Boat Ride

Dumna Nature Reserve - Eco Tourism Site : On the way to Jabalpur Dumna Airport, eco tourism site called Dumna Nature Reserve has been opened for general public. It is spread over an area of 1058 hectare of land on Jabalpur Airport road about 10 kms from city center. One can do nature walk, fishing etc on this nature reserve and can see wild animals like spotted dears, Chitals, wild boar, porcupine, jackals, monkey, many species of birds etc. In addition to it, boating can also be enjoyed on Khandari Dam. Bathing and swimming in Khandari dam is strictly not allowed as crocodiles are present in the water. It is also a source of water for Jabalpur city. Children park and restaurant is also developed in this nature reserve. Many new attractions are under construction. One can see hanging bridge, tent platform, rest house, fishing platform on Dumna Nature Reserve. Entrance charge for Dumna Nature Reserve is nominal, Rs.10/- per person. Its timing is from 8:30 hrs to 17:00 hrs, 7 days in a week. Their is separate entrance fee for 2-wheeler (10/- INR) and 4-wheeler vehicles (20/- INR).
